Year of HOPE

"See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6: 28-33

Road trips in Texas this time of year is one of my favorite things, as I’m sure it is for most Texans....the bluebonnets and wildflowers just never get old!

If you’ve followed us for some time, you know that we’re honest about anxiety and depression. In fact, our friendship really grew while our kids were in preschool because we both had struggled with depression and could understand each other in a way that no one else could.

So here I am, looking at bluebonnets and actively battling the thoughts in my head about what life will look like for the days, weeks, and months to come, when this verse popped into my head. It hit me like a ton of bricks, y’all!! Elise and I heard a fantastic talk about anxiety a few weeks ago, and the speaker addressed this specific verse in regards to anxiety. It made sense to me then, but right now in the midst of COVID-19 while staring at the gorgeous little flowers, it just blew me away.

These bluebonnets are amazing and intricate and precious and even though they are only here for a season, God takes care of their every detail.

So if you are really struggling right now with fear and anxiety about this virus, about cancellations and closures, about the economy, about all kinds of things that are happening in ways we’ve never seen before, please know you are not alone. Elise and I understand and we’re feeling the same things.

While we will also be managing the chaos of kids at home, we will be figuring out a plan to make sure all your items make it to you safe and sanitized! 😂 The website and our social media will be the best place to stay up to date with us! VH is a super special community of women, and we hope that we can continue to be a place where you can come to laugh and escape the crazy, and that we will all keep being the kind of women that encourage and support in good times and in bad!!

We will let you know our plan for shopping hours and our birthday event as soon as we decide what’s best!

We love y’all!! We truly do. When we say "it's not about the clothes, it's about the women who wear them," we mean it. For a long time we've been talking about how to set up a page or a forum for our customers to submit prayer requests. Now's the time. If you're feeling alone or scared and need to know someone is praying for you, we want to be that person. So use this page to let us know what's on your heart and what you need us to be praying for.

Love you!

Katie & Elise
